Rotary valves (rotary airlock valves) are used for metered feeding and discharge of granular materials, or for sealed discharge of dust and fine powders. They are commonly used in furnace fuel feeding systems and dust collection systems in workshops and plants.
The gravity-fed rotary valve consists of a cylindrical housing made of carbon steel, cast iron or stainless steel, a rotor with V-shaped pockets, a drive motor and a pair of inlet and outlet flanges. Depending on the application, the rotary valve can be designed for quick disassembly to make cleaning easy. Product contact surfaces can be polished.
