Blower Silencers:
-
Inlet (suction) silencers for air blowers.
-
Discharge silencers for air blowers.
Design Features of the Blower Inlet Silencer
The silencer is constructed of corrosion-resistant epoxy-coated steel with a fire-retardant sound-absorbing infill inside.
The blower inlet silencer reduces the noise generated by the blower and radiated through the suction opening to the surrounding environment, bringing it below the maximum permissible noise level or to the specific requirements of each customer.
Design Features of the Blower Discharge Silencer
The silencer is constructed of corrosion-resistant epoxy-coated steel with a fire-retardant sound-absorbing infill inside.
The blower discharge silencer reduces the noise generated by the blower and transmitted through the discharge outlet into the downstream piping and air-consuming equipment, bringing it below the maximum permissible noise level or to the specific requirements of each customer.
Operating Principle of the Silencer
The silencer combines sound-absorbing (dissipative) and reactive elements: the acoustic infill converts sound energy into heat, providing high attenuation in the mid- and high-frequency range, while the internal chambers reduce low-frequency noise.
Selection Considerations for Silencers
When selecting and installing a silencer, the acoustic characteristics, pressure, and flow rate of the air, gas or exhaust steam must be taken into account to achieve the best aerodynamic and acoustic performance. In other words, the pressure drop across the silencer must stay within the allowable limit, and the silencer must meet the applicable permissible noise standards.
